This Privacy Policy explains how Invoice Builder (“the Application”) handles your information.
For desktop installations, data stays on your device or in a database server you configure. For self-hosted web/Docker installations, data stays on your configured server or database.

The developer (“we,” “us,” “our”) does not receive your application data from those installations. Access to a server or database you configure depends on its operator and your access settings.

By using the Application, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Public Demo Exception​

The optional public demo runs on Render, not on your device. Data you enter is sent to and stored on that hosted service, where the service operator may have access to it. Render may process request metadata and logs under its privacy policy.

Use fictional data only. Demo databases may be accessible to other visitors. Do not upload real invoices, personal information, backups containing real data, or database credentials. The demo uses temporary storage on Render's free plan; data can disappear without notice and has no guaranteed retention period or recovery.

The local-storage and no-cloud statements in the following sections apply to desktop and self-hosted installations, not this public demo. In those sections, local storage includes your configured server or database; it does not necessarily mean the browser's device.

1. No Data Collection​

The Application does not:

  • collect personal information
  • collect usage analytics
  • send your data to external servers
  • use tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • store any information outside your device

All information you enter remains local and under your control.

2. Local Data Storage Only​

All data-including invoices, clients, businesses, items, settings, and reports-is stored:

  • only on your computer
  • only in the local application directory, database or docker container

We do not have access to this data and cannot view, copy, or recover it.

You are solely responsible for:

  • backing up your files
  • preventing unauthorized access to your device
  • maintaining data accuracy

3. No Cloud Services, No Accounts​

The Application:

  • does not require login or registration
  • does not connect to a cloud service
  • does not synchronize data across devices

Any file exports (PDF, backups, etc.) are saved by you in the location you choose.

4. Third-Party Services​

If you manually choose to:

  • store files in cloud services (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.)
  • print using third-party printer software
  • upload exported documents to external platforms

…then those services handle your data under their privacy policies.
We have no control over or responsibility for these actions.

5. Open Source Notice​

The Application is open source.
Third-party contributors may read or modify the source code, but they do not have any access to your local data unless you intentionally share it.

6. Children’s Privacy​

Because we do not collect any information, the Application does not knowingly collect or process data from children.
If a child uses the Application, no personal data is transferred or stored externally.

7. Security​

The Application does not transmit or manage data, so we cannot access or secure your files.

Security of your data depends fully on:

  • your operating system
  • your device
  • your backups
  • your local environment

We strongly recommend using proper device security (passwords, encryption, antivirus, backups).

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be posted in the repository.
Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of any updates.
